CODE OF CONDUCT
The El Dorado Dance Center is a community that gives students the tools to become their best. We ask everyone to follow our code of conduct in order to provide students an opportunity to learn and grow in the skills they love in an environment that is safe, respectful and fun.
DANCERS
Arrive on time and ready for your class.
Use the bathroom before class begins
Clothes worn during class are to follow our DRESS CODE. This includes hair
Dancers may bring a water bottle
No gum or candy in the studio
Cellphone use is prohibited during dance class unless given permission by their teacher. Cellphones are to be left in their bags and placed on silent
Be attentive at all times. It is proper etiquette to mark/practice the combinations
Respect other dancers. Keep your words positive and uplifting towards each other.
Refrain from correcting other dancers, this is the job of the teacher.
Respect your teacher. Thank your teacher after class. It is a tradition in dance classes to thank your teacher as a sign of respect.
Dancers who do not to follow our code of conduct, as a warning, will be asked to sit out and watch class. We aim to provide a structured yet fun environment for every dancer. Dancers who continued to not follow our code of conduct will be removed from the studio.
PARENTS/Guardians
Drop off and pick up your child on time. If you are running late, please notify the dance center
Please email the studio when your child is unable to attend class
Be polite and respectful to other families and teachers
Trust the instruction and guidance our professional instructors give your dancer
An instructor's job is to correct dancers and help them grow in their skill. As a parent/guardian, your role is to be your child's biggest supporter
To avoid distracting our dancers parents/guardians are asked not to observe classes.
Criticism of students, teachers, casting, costumes, or choreography will not be tolerated.
Costumes are NON-REFUNDABLE
Please contact the studio owner if you have any questions about the dancer(s) class, teacher, other dance families, or any issue involving the dance center. Parents are not to contact their child's teacher directly.
There are many factors that influence the choices we make at EDC. You can be assured that our students and the integrity of the dance program are always taken into account.
We do not tolerate competitive behavior amongst dancers. As a very talented dancer once said,
"I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself." - Mikhail Baryshnikov
Any bullying, disrespect, hostile, or threatening behavior towards any student or faculty member whether it be verbal, written or physical is strictly forbidden. A warning will be given to the parties involved. Parents/guardians and students that continue choose not to follow our company code of conduct will result in expulsion from the studio immediately without refund.
SOCIAL MEDIA
The use of social media is a commonplace and can be a positive way to promote EDC and your dancer. The policies listed below are intended to serve as guidelines on how to use social media in a positive and encouraging manner
Never post anything that could compromise the self-esteem of EDC students
Never post any negative comments about EDC or its instructors, performances, events, fellow students or peers
If you post a video of class or rehearsal, do not post choreography in its entirety.
When posting images or videos from class, rehearsal, or performances, please tag us #eldoradodancecenter
Improper use of social media in any capacity may be grounds for dismissal of a parent/guardian or student.
